During a pandemic, a nurse decides to live in her car to protect her family. The cheesy greeting cards her son sends her in social isolation begin to take on a special importance.
I directed, wrote, edited, and sound designed this short film in semi-lockdown. A company that made digital greeting cards (1616 Media) launched a video competition centred around their greeting card app. Although Shift is arguably branded content and heavily features their product, mental health nonprofits and film festivals really liked the film. Toronto non-profit Stella's Place has used this film to fundraise in private screenings.
